Need animal lovers opinions. The people behind our RV park lost a 30+ year old horse this weekend. One hoof was not right--it was walking on the tender inner part of the foot, and losing the ability to get to thevwater supply and food.
would like to send a sympathy card of sorts--does that seem dumb?
PS--we miss the mare too...

That would be a very sweet gesture. It was very hard when I had to put my 2 old horses down last year.

Riders become quite attached to their horses. Just look at what the Dutch rider in the Olympics did after her horse was bitten by an insect that caused a reaction. She chose to drop out of the competition rather than risk the horse. even though he had been given a clean bill of health by the vet team.
I think it's a wonderful gesture.

No that is not silly. It would be a very compassionate thing to do and to also mention that you miss seeing the horse too ♥
