here we are, Saturday night and the second of three nights with a hard freeze. Pipes are rupturing in Houston, especially sprinkler systems. While homes here are less expensive than in other parts of the country, they aren't built to the same standards, i.e. roofs that carry no snow load are cheaply done. By Thursday we are supposed to be close to 80° again!
Reruns on TV. We rec'd a Netflix gift card for Xmas. Our smart TV has Netflix on the controller, but we don't know where to start to actually get Netflix. This is so sad.
Going to read some more, I guess... What are you up to?

First of all . Call Netflix. 1-866-579-7172
They will get you going. They will walk you through it. They are one those super friendly, helpful companies with all American English speaking Customer Service Reps that I love dealing with.

I'm glad I saw your post this morning. I forgot about the advice our water company used to send out. To leave a few faucets dripping in these below freezing temperatures to prevent pipes from freezing.
Yesterday I only ventured out of my house one time. My good dependable friend, Charlotte, picked me up and drove me to the home of the family whose cats I'm suppose to be cat sitting for this weekend. The first day of my cat sitting was fine. The second day the unexpected snow and icy roads came and I'm too afraid to drive in that on the hilly icy roads where these people live. So Charlotte is taking me there every day to check on the cats. I'll be so glad when the family comes home tomorrow. Mostly all I did yesterday was sleep, eat, watch tv and talk on the phone.
