I am rather a loner so I would choose alone. I like me, and have lived with a few truly annoying people, so my reply is from experience. However, it is not safe to age alone and I am 65 this year, sooooo...

Alone over annoying people . I'll be 70 this year . I do live alone and I don't feel the need to have someone with me.

I prefer to be alone over being with annoying people. On the other hand, I could always ignore them, but know that they are there if I need them for something.
