8steps between parallel bars! But I DID have to use the bars for a bit of support still.
and over the weekend DH got the call for a transplant. Unfortunately, after taking blood, x rays, hooking him up to monitors and giving him stuff to kill his immune system, the lungs were no good. From 11a.m. to 1:20a.m. we waited and were then sent home. Sadly, another family lost a young man in his 20s that night. We remain hopeful.
How is your world?

That is so disappointing, Carolo. So when there's a match and a chance of a transplant, your husband still loses out if he doesn't pass all of their tests on that day? Has this happened before?
Any idea how this 20 year old lost his life? Most likely a car accident .

Nash--they won't tell the recipient much. They told us that the youngsters heart was strong enough that his body lasted long enough for the lungs to be no good. They don't say what happened to the donor to cause donation. Either way it was a sad day...
And yes, if DH doesn't pass the tests that day, the organs go to the next person on the list..

So sorry. I'm praying he gets another donor soon and that it works out next time. You sure have a lot on your plate.

Great job on taking the steps. You're doing great.
Sorry the donor didn't work out. When my sister died from her aneurysm she was a donor. We received an amazing letter from a man who received one of her kidneys. Besides the fact that he would get time with his family the thing that struck me the most was him saying that he had been able to eat ice cream for the first time in over 5 years. It's been almost 19 years and for some reason that sticks with me. Prayers that your DH finds his match soon.
