Another week gone, almost Halloween already! A bit of sadness this week cuz my calendar was marked for my moms birthday(I set up my calendar at the end of the year for the next year)-- she would have been 91. Everybody tells me the first year is the worst... On a better note, we had lunch with some fellow transplant folks and got T-shirts: DHs says "Transplant saved MY life" and mine says" Transplants save lives". Next week he goes in for tests again. This will always be, but still hard. Our park purchase is being held up by various thingsā¹ Always something.
What's up in your world?

Hello, Pollies. I wish we all lived closer so we could pop in on each other for tea and crumpets now and again.
Nash, I would be afraid of pigs, too. Especially if they were aggressive. Nice picture!
Carol, {{{HUGS}}}. Are you going to have a little remembrance for your mom's birthday, or would that be too painful?
Not much going on here. I just got back from grocery shopping, and I am thinking about doing a load or two of laundry. But this pile of papers waiting to be graded is slightly more urgent than the pile of laundry. The urge to take a nap is even MORE urgent, but I will have to decline. Maybe I'll just go to bed a little earlier tonight.
By the way, I haven't hit the lottery yet. Just thought you'd like to know.
Stay sweet, my friends. Talk to you soon.

Carolo, Sorry about the unexpected pop up reminder on your moms birthday. Yes. The first year is the hardest. It's been 11 years since my mom passed . I was with my farm friend and her mom and step dad yesterday. Her stepdad has to go for dialysis three times a week. He is not a good candidate for a kidney transplant. His doctor told him he'd have to lose at least 50 pounds first, and he simply doesn't see that happening . Poor guy. Because he's such a fun person. Her parents are both in bad health, yet have a good outlook, never complain. I can see where Cassandra gets her personality from. It's probably why she's so caring for her husband - the man who had a stroke 14 years ago, and continues to have all kind of health issues. Then her handicap goat, donkey with the bad leg. Dove that can't fly . It's never ending. Funny how some people have so much on their plate and never complain.
Jeanette, Wouldn't that be great if we DID live close by. I imagine grading papers can be challenging. Do you ever find yourself giving a kid a better grade than they deserve simply because they need the encouragement? i would have a hard time giving bad grades .
Sure is COLD and dreary here today . I think summer is really over .
