We finally moved to, our property. Took us some time to get internet service as we are in the boonies. Two weeks without the net! I jevervrealized how dependent we are on it. We manage our banks/investments and receive our medical appointments online. Kinda crippling for a bit.
We are terribly busy right now and the holidays are just not part of my planā¹
wassup in your world?

Hi Carolo! I'm glad you're all settled in and have your internet back. I'd be lost without it too. Two weeks is a long time!
Went to the movies today, afternoon bargain day - but since AMC took over our local movie theater there's a lot of changes and you have to jump through hoops to get the Tuesday $5.00 all day bargain price. First you have to get the AMC App. Then you have to sign into it on your phone and show them your barcode for it to be scanned for the $5.00 bargain day price. But they also have other tricks. They have a dine-in section with fancy seats and it's and additional $2.00 to your ticket if the movie you want to see is in that section. The movie we went to see "Murder on The Orient Express" happen to be in that section of the theater . So the $5.00 ticket was bumped up to $7.00 - and what the heck. If you're going to be stuck there, may as well get a glass of wine . An 8 oz. glass of Riesling was $14.00 . I could get a whole bottle at the wine store for $10.00
So that was my day!

Oh Nash, there are so many rip offs waiting for us at every turn. Sorry that a simple movie turned out to be one... I think the last movie I went to was about that oil platform explosion. Today(Tuesday) we took our belongings(whats left of them) out of a storage company and put them in a container here on the property.
We are going back and forth on travel over the holidays. Wish we could take a train cuz by air is not only pricey, but germy with so many people.

carolo, if you travel for the holidays - where will you be going? I'm glad there's no pressure on me to go to Michigan . My brother is used to my travel anxiety . He just comes here instead later in the year. And we commute by phone .

Nash, DH has a daughter and three grown grandkids in CO. He misses them, the home we sold there and the mountains. I can skip the family dramas and the travel itself on holidays. It's pretty doubtful that we will go now. I am thinking we should check out train travel for the future. It would allow me to stand and walk about during the trip, go pee without stopping and no driving for either of us...

carolo, I hear you on the family drama. One of the big reasons it was not hard for me to leave Michigan behind after my mom passed away. I didn't want to stay there and have to be in the middle of all the drama between my brother his ex and his kids . It stresses me out just to hear bits and pieces of it . There's constant tension there. I'm so at peace away from it.

Happy Holidays, Pollies!
Things have been so hectic with testing, grading, lesson planning, principal observations, shopping, and wrapping, that I feel like someone else was in the driver's seat. Have you ever felt like you were not in control of what you were doing? Like you were a sometimes unwilling participant in your own life?
Well, today I decided to take back the wheel! I slept in until 10:22, making the executive decision not to drag my sick body out into the pouring rain for the 30-minute walk to my WW meeting at 8:30. I still feel like reheated leftovers, but at least I'm not tired.
Carolo, that's great that you're getting settled into your new home! Sorry you were without internet service for so long. I am not sure I would have survived. i would have had to go to some public place with wifi.
Nash, AMC is our local theater chain. They are definitely rip-off artists. I have the amazon firestick, so I don't go to the movies much anymore. When I go, it has to be for some movie with effects that just HAVE to be seen on the big screen. Or because someone invited me.
Nothing special planned for Christmas. I haven't even bought Christmas dinner yet.
Nash, I finally deleted my beloved Winning Stars Board. There were strangers posting random things on there. You ladies and The CAM Board (Calling All Moms), are my only links to the past glory of WW. Thank you for still being here.

Jeanette, I sure miss the old WW boards. They way they were before things start falling apart. So much activity. Many choices of where to post and the most user friendly message board of any I have yet to participate in. They had something really good going. Too bad they dropped the ball.
It's going to be a rainy Christmas Eve here with a threat of snow flurries tonight. One snow flake and I freak. I'll be so glad when Spring comes back.
You All have a Merry Christmas.

Christmas Eve and I finally went to the store-Wal Mart. Not as crowded as I thought it would be. Some areas were stripped bare! Valentines hearts were being stocked in the "seasonal" aisle. We needed basic foods for the upcoming week, just having ham for te big day. Store bought cookies, lots of snacks. No presents for DH as he called me on the phone EVERY time I was out; insisting I return quickly. Our gift this year is me able to walk and his is to be able to breathe....
I'll talk at you tomorrow. Have a nice Christmas Eve pollies!

That's gift enough, Carolo. I think at this stage of the game , we really don't have a lot of use for traditional gifts. Health is the best gift ever.
I am dog sitting all week for one friend and cat sitting for a neighbor. People know who to call when they need their pets checked up on. I don't mind either, because both these people live in my Townhouse complex. The cat is the easiest. Just give him a can of food each day and check the litter box.
The two doggies are a little more trouble. They are old dashunds. They poop and pee on their puppy pads. They have to be fed twice a day and they should be let out , but rarely cooperate with that. I have the morning feeding duty, and my friend Pauline has the evening job.
The owner left us 3 bottles of wine, that I and Pauline have been going through quite fast as I sit with her and the dogs in the evening, drinking wine, eating cheese and catching up on gossip.
I'll be visiting a few friends from my church that have an open house today and joining Pauline in the evening to keep her company while she watches those dogs. This morning I need to get over there and give them their breakfast.
Wishing my pollie pals a Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas!
We imbibed a bit too much last night and now I'm pretty tired. We listened to Xmas music, had snacks and called friends far away. Today a ham dinner and some mundane tasks--nothing special.
Wishing you all a great Christmas Day.

My Christmas was a bit eventful.. My friend Sherri, had a nice afternoon gathering at her house with friends from church. I was planning on spending my afternoon there . But got a text from Cassandra the lady with the farm. She had the flu bug going on and could not get out of bed. She was begging me to come out and do the evening chores. Not what I wanted to do on Christmas day. But my friend Cathy went with me so it turned out okay. The goats were still in the barn in their proper places, so they hadn't been let out for the day. Giselle, the crippled goat was not in her wheel chair, So I didn't have to deal with taking her out of it. So all I really had to do feed the chickens, ducks , and the boys (the male goats) .
Looking forward to a much calmer New Year!
