I can't believe it's March . The weather is very spring like in Tennessee this week. How is it where you guys are? I got my nails done for the first time in years. They look nice, but trying to do many every day tasks is TRYING! Just typing on my laptop takes concentration. Typing on my iPhone even more challenging. Went to the movies last Sunday. Another first in a LONG time. My friend wanted to go and see Death On The Nile. It was okay. I wouldn't put it on my list of must sees. Well, I'm going to sign off for now. Just wanted to get a March thread going before it's April.  |

Hi!
We had mild temperatures today, but tomorrow night is going back to the 20’s.
I have just gotten back into reading recently. I love my Kindle, but I hate that I can’t skip ahead and see what happens at the end.
Haven’t been to the movies in years.
Richard Simmons???🙄

Hi people! Nothing exciting on my end. Feb weather was upper 60s, now we are a bit cooler in low 60s. Was supposed to go to NASCAR today, but the friend with tickets got sick.😫. Havent gone out since before Ed died. Work is OK. Watched a comedy show on my Fire last night, reading books as usual.
Luvn-doesnt Kindle have that line appear (if you tap the bottom of the page) where you can move the pages fwd or backward?

Can you believe it's March 31 ALREADY! My farm friend now has 8 pregnant goats and since goats have anywhere from 2 to 4 babies she's expecting at least 16 baby goats minimum ! The one name after me (Little Jeannie) still hasn't delivered . She is HUGE . I think she's waiting until tomorrow as her April Fools joke.
I got bored with Academy Award shows LONG ago. I didn't even know it was on this past Sunday until I turned on the news Monday morning . What a hoot! I was searching out every YouTube video that had the slap heard around the world. I always liked Chris Rock and I never knew what a mess Will Smith was. Too bad that incident overshadowed the awards. I had to google to see if The Eyes of Tammy Faye won anything . And yes it did. Best actress. Well deserved. But I guess I did't miss much else. All this politically correct bs is too bizarre for my taste.
I'm trying to get interested in Gilded Age a series on HBO that a friend of mine thinks is so wonderful. But it's boring me to death. I never cared much for period movies. But I caught and taped a really good one on a movie channel I get on Comcast. Called "Phone Call From a Stranger" It's a 1952 movie with Gary Merrill, Bette Davis, Shelly Winters, Michael Rennie and Keenan Wynn. (Davis and Winters were the only actors I was familiar with before watching it) anyway. I showed it to three different friends and all were highly impressed. Even the one friend who has a very short attention span paid attention to this one and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Well.....it's morning . I'm being lazy today. Just going to watch MeTV. Back to Matlock now. Followed by In the Heat of The Night followed by The Waltons. Then the 12 0'clock news . Ta Ta

School is not out yet, though many of the kids have mentally checked out. Teachers, too.
Our last day is June 28th.

Hi Luvin, I wondered where you were. You're not the only one gaining weight this summer. I was doing pretty good until my birthday (July 1) my friend got me a chocolate cake and a gallon of vanilla ice cream to serve to my few friends. Just three friends that came over that day. Now what am I suppose to to with the rest? Eat it of course! It seemed I just couldn't pile on enough ice cream. The more I added the better the cake tasted.  I finished off the ice cream in a couple of days and gave the 1/4 of the cake that was left to another friend who couldn't make it over on my birthday. I'm glad that's gone! I saw the new Elvis movie last week. I thought it was really good. I hope it gets a few Oscars next year . |

Cake and ice cream are my Kryptonite. When the ice cream melts into the cake….mmmmmm
You know what makes me mad? I have, for the most part, given up those indulgences. And I am still gaining weight! There are so many things that I don’t buy anymore now that I live alone because I will HAVE to eat it all by myself. Do you think my body appreciates the effort? Nope.
I was never a big Elvis fan, but I have heard good things about the movie. Maybe I will check it out.

Believe it or not, I wasn't a big Elvis fan either. I mean, when he first came out, I was. Me and my cousin sat in front of the tv and screamed when he made his first appearance on the Ed Sullivan show. My mom took me to see him at the Olympia Stadium in Detroit in 1957. I was all of 10 years old. I got sent down to the principals office for writing E.P. on my hand in third grade ( the nuns thought he was the devil ) but by 1958 I had a crush on Johnny Mathis and forgot Elvis. Then in 1977 (a few months before he died) he was back in Detroit at the Olympia again. My girlfriend was crazy about him. By that time I just didn't get the appeal. I went to see his concert with her. She was jumping out of her seat and screaming and I was laughing. He was no longer the sexy skinny Elvis . But he could still hit those notes. Anyway. The movie was really good . You don't have to be an Elvis fan to appreciate it. The actor who played him is really really cute! |
