Have been bitten this summer for a flying or crawling bug?
Do you use insect repeller before going outdoors?
If so, what brand do you use?

We are here in the sweaty crotch of Texas, and there are tons of things to sting you, bite you or poke you. I went out last week to take out the trash without spraying myself, stopped to talk with a neighbor and came home with bites on my legs and feet. I use Natrapel or Repel. A person here should not leave the house without spraying themselves.

If I leave my house for a fast walk to the mail box without spraying myself , I'll get bit for sure.
I spray my clothing , up and down front and back, and my arms and legs, with Deep Woods before going to the farm. And I pat my face with a Deep Woods Towellete .

"The sweaty crotch of Texas"? EEEEEWWWWWW!
My blood must not be very sweet because I rarely get bitten. I don't use repellant because I can't stand the smell of it.

I think the bugs like the South better. I don't recall having this big of a problem in Michigan.

Chiggers/Redbugs are mostly in grassy pastures and such places. I have a few bites healing right now.

No bug bites so far this summer. The ones I fear the most are ticks.
I don't usually wear any bug repellent unless I'm going to be in a wooded area or field with long grass. I used to be a mosquito magnet when I was little but not so much now.
My last bite was from a spider down in my basement when we were doing some clean out.

Kristen I hope it was not a recluse spider.

Kristen I hope it was not a recluse spider. Not a recluse or black widow. Just a spider that was mad at us for disturbing it's home. It's been several months since it happened.
